A1GP World Cup of Motorsport

We assisted A1GP World Cup of Motorsport to unveil an ambitious series of initiatives to help reduce its environmental footprint. Measures included switching to biofuel, waste reduction measures, carbon-offsetting unavoidable emissions and promoting environmental awareness to a global audience spanning 150 countries.

We developed an environmental engagement strategy, messaging and materials to engage relevant stakeholders and raise the profile of A1GP's initiatives. The new environmental policy was announced at the Official 2007/08 Test Session at Silverstone International Circuit, in front of a global audience which included environmental media, key NGOs and related influencers. We secured the attendance of the UK Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment Peter Ainsworth MP, who gave a speech at the launch endorsing the initiatives. Blanket media coverage reported this groundbreaking, yet most unlikely, of partnerships between motorsport and the environment.

War Child

We provided pro bono PR support for the launch of War Child's second record-breaking album "Help: A Day in the Life album". The album featured Coldplay, Keane and Razorlight and was available to download within 24 hours of being recorded at various locations around the world.

The recording and release of the album dominated the British media for two days, featuring on BBC and Sky News, with extensive play of album tracks on BBC Radio One.

Coverage was achieved in every national broadsheet and tabloid newspaper. The War Child music website received 650,000 hits in one hour after Coldplay's track was announced, rising to one million hits on launch day. Within three days, this rose to 100,000 tracks, putting "Help: A Day in the Life" on course to be the biggest selling download album in history. It hit Number One in the download chart after 72 hours. We continue to provide ongoing strategic media planning.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers

Planet 2050 worked with Fujitsu Siemens Computers to help improve external awareness around the company's corporate responsibility activity. Our work included the architectural design of the online content structure for the company's new CR website, 'IT with a sense of responsibility'.

We worked closely with internal management across the Fujitsu Siemens Computers business in order to identify, collate and codify the company's existing corporate responsibility activity. The architectural layout of the new site was built around these elements. It was designed to retain a flexible structure enabling further expansion of the company's corporate responsibility programme and story.

Planet 2050 was also tasked to draft narrative around the varying business strands of the company's responsibility programme ensuring this aligned with the style and tone of the larger corporate website. Narrative development was also designed to reflect the social and environmental information demands of stakeholder groups, including business partners and NGOs. The site went live in 2007.

LifeSize Communications

Planet 2050 worked with LifeSize Communications to maximise the company's profile amid growing UK market interest in climate change mitigation technologies and to position their video-conferencing systems as a credible alternative to business flight travel.

Planet 2050 designed and launched a comprehensive environmental programme, LifeSize PlanetWise. As part of the company's PlanetWise program, Planet 2050 commissioned a carbon footprint analysis of the company's operations to identify opportunities for environmental improvement. We brokered introductions to The Climate Group, the international climate change NGO, which resulted in LifeSize donating high definition video conferencing systems to support their global communication needs whilst minimising business travel requirements.

Planet 2050 refreshed LifeSize's brand messaging and materials to reflect a more environmental tone, positioning the company as an obvious business partner in corporate and organisational carbon reduction strategies. A section of their website dedicated to LifeSize PlanetWise went live in January 2008.
